Nintendo eShop *Student Project*

This is a student project. I am not affiliated with Nintendo.

Despite a massive increase in online sales as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nintendo's eShop has remarkably stayed the same; a slow, "clunky" experience that makes casual browsing a chore for the average user.
To validate my concerns, I interviewed other eShop users about the platform, ultimately finding that many users would only use the eShop if they knew what they wanted beforehand. Common decision-making factors, such as videos and other user feedback were not present on the eShop due to Nintendo's strict regulations on community input.
To circumvent this, I proposed new browsing features based on recommendations, bringing games that interest a user directly to them, based on friend activity and play history. Ideally, this feature would encourage regular visits to the eShop and would greatly reduce the frustration of navigating through endless lists and menus.
The feature performed well in testing and gained support for an official release.
(although it will never, ever, ever happen).
