Catnap is a former competition project of mine that I chose to revisit in order to develop further. The idea was originally pitched with a team of my peers for the 2017 Silicon Valley Innovation Challenge.
Catnap is a concept for an hourly in-terminal hotel for travelers on layovers in airports. By providing safe, comfortable, and accessible rooms to travelers, Catnap intends to provide a haven for travelers, away from the frustrations that come with air travel.
With no existing locations or physical prototypes currently built, I tasked myself with creating an end-to-end prototype demonstrating how a user would check in, stay, and check out of a Catnap room. Catnap is a service that can be reserved on demand, and every facet of the user's stay can be operated through the mobile app.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that participants involved with interviews and user testing were still very excited about the idea. While this project might not see use in the near future, I find it very interesting to see how others like it will develop in the future.
