Lifestyle is a way used by people, groups and nations and is formed in specific geographical, economical, political, cultural and religious text. Lifestyle is referred to the characteristics of inhabitants of a region in special time and place. It includes day to day activities of a person.
Nowadays, lifestyle is important as health. According to WHO, 60% of the health issues are caused because of lifestyle. Lot of people follow an unhealthy lifestyle. Hence, they faces different illness and they encounter sudden death. Problems like metabolic diseases, joint and skeletal problems, cardio vascular disease etc. are caused due to lifestyle. There is a big relationship between lifestyle and health.
Today there are a lot of changes in the life of humans. Malnutrition, smoking, unhealthy diet etc. are the reasons for it. Also the life of citizens faces new challenges. The vast development of technology causes a lot of problem in mental and physical health of people. Overuse and misuse of technology is the main factor in this challenge.
According to the existing studies, lifestyle has a greater influence in health. There are different forms of influence in this. Consanguinity in some ethnicity is a dominant form of lifestyle which leads to genetic disorder. Reformation of this unhealthy lifestyle is the cure to these types of genetic diseases. Overuse of drugs also plays a major role in the affection of lifestyle. Iran is one of the 20 countries which uses most of the medications. They prefer medication to other intervention. 15-40% of them use medications without the prescriptions. Painkiller, Antibiotics, eye drops etc. are the most used medications is Iran. Overuse of antibiotics have negative effects and on further treatment medicines will be ineffective. Only 10% of such users may come out from those. Due to this drug allergy is also formed and it leads to death.
Variables on lifestyles that influence on health can be categorized as follows;
•Diet and Body mass Index:Diet is the greatest factor in lifestyle. Poor diet leads to obesity that is common in urban society. Unhealthy lifestyle can be measured by using BMI. Fast food is a common factor in urban society which leads to cardiovascular health issues.
•Exercise:Exercise is a great factor to lead a healthy lifestyle. Daily exercise increases the health conditions.
•Sleep:One of the main factor that affect lifestyle is sleep. Sleep can't be avoided. Sleep disorders have several social, economical, psychological problems. It also affects physical and mental health.
•Sexual Relation:Normal sex relation is necessary in life. Dysfunction of sexual relationship is a common factor that is faced by the society which can cause human physical and mental health. Dysfunctional sex relation may leads to different family problems like AIDS, other sex related diseases etc.
•Substance Abuse:Addiction is considered as an unhealthy lifestyle. Smoking and other drug usage causes various problems. A study shows that 30% of people smokes.
•Medication abuse:Over usage of medication is an unhealthy form of lifestyle. Usage of medicines without the prescriptions of doctors, excessive use of medicines etc. are the various abuses.
•Appilcation of modern technologies:Advanced technologies facilitates the life of human beings. Misuse of technologies may cause unpleasant conditions. Addiction to mobile phone usage is the symptom of depression.
•Recreation:Leisure pass time is a sub factor of lifestyle. Neglecting leisure can bring negative consequences. With disorganized planning and unhealthy leisure, people endanger their health.
•Study:Study is the exercise of soul. Studying advantages in mental health and physical health. Various dementia problems will be slow down because of studying.
