It all started with a near-death experience.
Okay okay, that was a bit dramatic. It actually kicked off like any other deep-dive.
Picture me, mug in hand, deep in the trenches of online lurking, AKA getting a feel for the brand. I’m watching their “Meet Owl Labs” video on YouTube, laughing so hard I nearly choke on my latte. That's when it clicks, their brand voice isn’t just another list of generic descriptors, it’s a fully-realized personality that needs to live proudly in every piece of content I craft for them. 
As obvious as the new latte stain on my shirt, I knew I had to nail it.

Bookmarking puns, peeking into the culture, scribbling notes:
What makes their humor land?
How do they mix tech with warmth?
Which phrases spark a "damn, they know the struggle"?

Becoming Owl Labs (In a totally non-creepy way)

Here's what I focused on:
Weaving in pain-point callouts (“audio hiccups,” “frozen frames”)
Breaking up text into snackable bites
Adding quips when the reader's attention span might be starting to venture into "tech, more like torture" territory

Emails & Blogs That Click

So far, I've scripted a handful of emails and a guide-driven blog post that:
Hooked readers with surprise (“Make 2025 the year of meetings that couldn't have been emails”)
Felt like a colleague sliding into your inbox
Prompted real action
And I quote: "The New Year's email you wrote did SO well! We had a great open (40.83%) and CTR (13.97%) and generated some revenue - all around, killer!"

Cheeky Bonus (The Mock-Up That Nobody Asked For)

Any good copywriter is also thinking about layout. As someone who offers both email copy and design, let's just say... the intrusive thoughts won.
