Riches

Ray Tseng

In dreams of gold and silver sheen,
Where wealth is more than what it seems,
I journey forth through fields of green,
To grasp the fabric of my dreams.
The morning light, a gilded hue,
Promises of fortunes new,
With every step, a purpose true,
A path that only few pursue.
Through valleys deep and mountains high,
I chase the gleam within the sky,
Not just for coins that multiply,
But for the freedom they imply.
Riches found in toil and sweat,
In risks that spark the gambler’s bet,
In moments seized, without regret,
In goals that whisper, “Not yet, not yet.”
For wealth is not in gold alone,
But in the seeds of effort sown,
In friendships made, in love full-blown,
In the wisdom we have grown.
So as I gather riches wide,
With humble heart, I cast aside,
The greed that swells with tidal pride,
For wealth is best when shared beside.
In the end, the treasure’s weight,
Is not what lies in fortune’s gate,
But in the joy we cultivate,
When dreams and virtues resonate.
