Sage Coffee Shop Branding Video

What was the project's objective?

The goal of this video was to promote Sage Coffee Shop using the brand style and design elements I had already created. I wanted to bring the brand to life through a short, engaging video that would help people feel the calm, soulful vibe of the coffee shop—even before stepping inside.

What's the context of this project?

This is a concept project that I created myself, not for a real client. The idea behind Sage Coffee Shop is to offer more than just coffee—it’s a space where people can take a break, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.
This video was made to show how a well-designed brand can be used to create a consistent and emotional experience across social media.

What problem were you trying to solve?

The problem I focused on was how to take a brand that exists only as a design and turn it into something people can connect with emotionally. Static logos and colors are great, but in today’s digital world, brands also need to be seen in motion—especially on platforms like Instagram Reels, YouTube, and ads.
So, this video solves the need for engaging, on-brand content that feels personal and true to the brand message.

How did you arrive at your solution?

I used the brand kit I had created earlier as the base—color palette, logo, typography, and tagline (“Sip deeply. Elope with your soul.”). Then I used Canva’s video tools and AI to plan and design a reel that feels warm, peaceful, and thoughtful—just like the brand itself.
I made sure each frame followed the brand’s tone, and the video told a story without needing a voiceover or heavy explanation.

What did you learn while working on this project?

This project helped me understand how important motion and emotion are in branding. It’s not just about how things look, but how they feel. I also learned how to:
Use Canva’s video features more creatively
Keep design consistent across formats
Make a short video that holds attention while staying true to the brand story

What would you do differently next time?

Next time, I’d use Figma to plan the layout of scenes in more detail before making the video. I’d also try using real video clips mixed with the designs to make it feel even more real.
I’d love to experiment with adding sound effects or voiceovers and maybe turn this into a small series of videos instead of just one. I’d also test how the video performs on different platforms to see what works best.

Who was your client? What results did you achieve for them?

This wasn’t made for a client—it was a personal project to practice and showcase my branding and video skills. But it’s a strong example of what I can do for café owners, wellness brands, or anyone who wants to tell a deeper story through design and video.
