MANCHESTER: Manchester City are trying to block EDERSON's move to Saudi Arabia by planning to increase his salary.
Sun Sport reported that Al-NASSAR are interested in signing the Brazilian goalkeeper for a fee of 900,000 pounds (RM4.54 million) a week, along with a purchase fee.
Although City are unable to match the offer, they will try to negotiate with EDERSON's agent next week.
The English Premier League champions will offer an increase of up to 75 per cent to his current salary.
They are also willing to give the goalkeeper an additional 1 million pounds (RM6.06 million) a month if he signs a new contract at the Etihad.
But if EDERSON is more likely to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-NASSAR, City will not stop him and will put a price tag of no less than 50 million pounds (RM303.07 million).
The 30-year-old's contract has two years left at the Etihad.
EDERSON is among City's pillars in helping the English club win 16 trophies since he was signed from Benfica seven years ago. -AGENCIES
