DURAG AND WAVE EMOJIS

The Spartan marketing team challenged me to create custom emojis celebrating men with durags and waves. I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure how this project would turn out — but I dove in headfirst. Using Adobe Illustrator, I designed a set of bold, expressive emojis that put haircare and wave culture front and center.

The response was incredible. The emojis gained strong traction on Instagram, sparking conversations and engagement from the community. This project also reignited my creative spark, inspiring me to explore more emoji designs and other unique, culturally-driven artwork whenever the opportunity arises.
