I decited to reimagine and create an updated instagram feed for one of my favorite outdoor apparel & equipment brands Tropicfeel
The image on the left is how their feed looked at the time, on the right my recreation.
Having their design philosophy in mind
High performance - sustainability - versatile
I focused on getting their travel and adventure aesthetic visible, and clear up the dark look by
☘️ Choosing brighter images and colour schemes
For a visually appealing and lighthearted look
☘️ Changing from city-focused to nature setting
Because of their beautiful mission statement “A moment to reconnect with nature or enjoy a unique experience, alive, awake and aware of what’s around you.”
☘️ Working primarily with green, blue and orange
Bringing in their signature grays and greens as the base.
☘️ Diverse photo proportions
E.g. close-ups, full & mid shots, product centered and storytelling. Resulting in a visually appealing and interesting feed.
REELS VS POST
Their feed also includes Reels, but my basis was if they were to focus on image posts, including storytelling instead of products.
There are many ways to create an outdoor brand, which is why it’s so important to understand
- Brands values
- Niche.
In this case being
“Bringing the excitement of travel to everyday life.”
And
“We want to inspire authentic, conscious travel.”
This recreation focuses much more on their travel and high performance abilities, as well as appealing further to their activity and outdoorsy consumers.
Bringing in nature in this case was the most effective change, as it clearly states their main purposes.
