This project involved creating a tri-fold brochure for the annual Summer Street Festival. The goal was to design a piece that captured the event’s energetic and inclusive spirit, appealing to a diverse audience of families, young adults, and community members.

The brief required a brochure that was not only informative but also a fun, eye-catching piece of art. It needed to communicate key information clearly while reflecting the festival’s lively and playful atmosphere

Before I started designing , I had to figure out what this festival felt like. The brief called for something "energetic, fun, and approachable," so I started pulling images that hit that exact note.

My goal was to capture the feeling of the festival in a visual way. I wanted to mix bold, abstract shapes, playful typography, and vibrant, clashing colors. The mix of modern photography with retro illustrations gave me the perfect balance of old and new, which is a key part of the festival's unique identity.

The moodboard helped me narrow down the energy portrayed by the design, giving my design, pivoted direction.

The color palette for the Summer Street Festival was designed to be both energetic and inviting, appealing to a wide audience while capturing the fun, playful essence of the event.

I wanted to move away from the typical bright, primary colors and instead find a palette that felt both modern and a little bit retro. That's how I landed on these six colors. I built the palette around a high-contrast relationship. The deep Teal Green and muted Pale Cerulean create a calm, foundational base. This allowed me to introduce more playful, high-energy shades that would pop without feeling overwhelming.
