Humboldt Foundation

The Humboldt Foundation, co-founded by Erin Samueli and the Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF), is a philanthropic initiative grounded in the belief that sovereignty isn't given: it's resourced. Rather than distributing capital in isolation, they align resources, relationships, and lived experience to support communities advancing autonomy, justice, and ecological balance.

Drawing from Alexander von Humboldt's philosophy of interconnectedness, their approach is ecosystem-minded and relational, recognizing that meaningful change happens across systems, not in silos. Humboldt provides strategic philanthropic advising and values-aligned resource development, connecting donors to the movements they care about while advancing sovereignty through locally rooted, regenerative impact.
