Challenge: To create an interactive animation that showcases famous paintings in a unique and engaging way, using Adobe Illustrator for illustration and Rive for animation and interactivity.
Solution: I selected three iconic paintings—Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, a self-portrait by Frida Kahlo, and a stylized Picasso-like painting—and stylized them to be more cartoon-like. I then created illustrations of these paintings in Adobe Illustrator, paying close attention to the details that make each painting recognizable. After importing the artwork into Rive, I created animations that allowed the paintings to morph into each other based on user interaction. This interactive element added a layer of engagement and exploration to the project.
Results: The interactive animation received positive feedback for its creative approach to showcasing famous paintings. Viewers appreciated the cartoon-like stylization, which added a playful element to the otherwise serious subject matter. The project demonstrated my ability to combine illustration and animation techniques to create engaging and interactive experiences.
