The redesign of a local garden center’s app to reflect the company’s newly renovated location. Garden Center wanted a modern revamp to encompass their locations new earthy atmosphere.
My Role:
Lead UX & Visual Designer tasked with creating a flower catalogue app from conception to delivery.
Goals of the Project 🤝
People who lead fast paced lives that do not have the time to stop by their local garden centers to shop therefore the following goals were established:
• Information Accessibility; App needs to be descriptive enough where the user will not feel the need to go elsewhere for information.
• Timing; Users need an app that can quickly meet their needs as they multitask.
• Visual Users; App has accompanying images for most user flows to facilitate the checkout process.
Research Study:
After brainstorming some ideas on how to create a flower catalogue for garden centers/florists I interviewed potential users on why they would need this app. The user group was composed of people with varying background but found that one common need would be a visually stimulating app. They would like an app that allowed them to choose based on aesthetic imagery that also provided a summary on the plants.
Key Challenges:
App needed to be descriptive enough where the user will not feel the need to go elsewhere for information before check out.
Users from a certain age group need an app that can quickly meet their needs as they multitask.
