Having lived in LA for over seven years, I've noticed intriguing disparities within certain neighborhoods. During my first five years in the city, I resided in Del Rey, an affluent white community situated between Marina Del Rey and Culver City on the Westside. Presently, I live in the South Central/Crenshaw District, a historically Black and Hispanic community located in the city's geographic center, roughly equidistant from the beach and downtown. My point is straightforward: after living in both areas for an extended period, I've observed significant differences in funding allocation to each respective community. As a result, this project aims to compare and contrast similar yet unlikely communities and highlight the mismanagement of funds or the disregard for minority communities.
