I helped Lawpair's founding team to bring this project to life.
They had a pretty good idea of what kind of product they wanted when they reached out to me, including design materials and a bit of code.
Just enough to make sure I understood the needs and the core business logic.
Also so we can put it in the contract.
❓Functional specifications
How is it supposed to behave?
⚙️Technical specifications

Simple, reliable & community-owned MERN stack.
With my own secret spices.
Infrastructure As Code (IAC)
One of the requirement was to have a SOC2 ready infrastructure at AWS, we chose Terraform to setup a full-size infrastructure at AWS including:
Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
Elastic Container Registries (ECR)
Elastic Load Balancer (NLB)
Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)
Relational Database Service (RDS)
Guard Duty
CloudWatch & CloudTrail with aggregated logs from the cluster & many alerts on the instances
... more than 100 resources at AWS
Back-end development
For us a back-end is the code base of an API or a Worker, either exposing routes through a restful API or reacting asynchronously to messages from a queue.
It's made of:
Typescript 5.9, NodeJS 24
MongoDB 7
Express 5.2
Docker Node 24-alpine
Front-end development
We had one strong requirement: server side rendering for some public pages to be indexed by search engines (Google & co). NextJS was our first pick.
So this one is made of:
React 19.2
Next 16
Mui 7, for UI components this is the most complete library I've ever used !
All of that being worked on following a bootstrap strategy to meet the tight deadline. All the details here.
3.2.1...Launch !
5 weeks from the contract signature to a production ready execution of the entire architecture.
Then this message after the first round of tests with the beta testers ❤️
