Positioning a Small Automation Service: A Sourced Research Sample
Self-directed portfolio project, researched in October 2026 with AI-assisted search and synthesis. Not a client engagement.
Decision: should a new service compete on one-off data cleanup or offer a reusable local tool?
Method: examine relevant public supplier offers and buyer listings; compare price units, scope, deliverables and limitations. Record whether evidence is a supplier asking price, a buyer budget or a verified outcome. This is a purposive sample, not a statistically representative market survey.
Direct-page observation: LooplyLabs advertises CSV/spreadsheet automation at $150–480 with a 2–5 day turnaround. Its scope includes code, examples and run instructions. This is an advertised offer, not evidence of sales volume.

Recommendation: retain a tightly scoped cleanup entry offer and test a separate reusable-tool package with source code, validation, sample outputs and instructions. Quote only after reviewing redacted input and expected output. Treat the proposed price as a hypothesis until actual inquiries and delivery effort are measured.
Limits: no interviews, private sales data, revenue estimates or causal claims. Public pages may change. The next validation step is to track qualified inquiries, conversion, revisions and delivery hours.
Outcome: an evidence-based positioning brief and bounded offer specification; no claimed customer revenue or conversion improvement.
