A minimal journaling app designed to make reflection feel easy, calming, and part of everyday life.
About the project
This is a self-initiated mobile app concept exploring how journaling can feel less overwhelming and more natural. The idea was to remove friction from writing, help users track moods quickly, and create a gentle daily ritual instead of a task.
What I focused on
Making it easy to start writing
Reducing “blank page anxiety”
Mood tracking in seconds
Calm, non-clinical visual design
Daily-use friendly navigation
Key features
Mood check-in with quick slider
Guided journaling prompts
Daily reflection home screen
Mood trends & emotional patterns
Quick actions for fast entries
My role
Wireframing → Visual design → Interaction thinking → App flow.
Tools: Figma, AI tools for copywriting, ideation & illustrations
Design direction
Instead of productivity-style journaling, the app is designed to feel warm and emotionally safe.
Soft color palette
Rounded components
Minimal decisions per screen
Focused on “start writing fast”
Gentle prompts instead of instructions
Screens & flows
Onboarding → emotional entry point
Mood logging → 1-step interaction
Journaling → prompt-led writing
Home → daily reflection dashboard
Outcome
A simple, calm journaling experience focused on consistency rather than features.
The project helped me explore:
Emotional UX
Habit-driven product thinking
Designing for low-energy states
Visual tone for mental wellness apps
The goal wasn’t to design another journaling app, but to design something people would actually return to.
