Cafe Carolina - Redesign

As the lead UX/UI designer, I conducted comprehensive competitive analysis and user research to understand current pain points and industry trends. I designed a scalable UI Kit and implemented a clean, adaptive layout for desktop and mobile devices. Key deliverables included a streamlined ordering flow, an intuitive navigation system, and a prominent, conversion-focused CTA.

My role

I was responsible for end-to-end UX/UI design, including:
Conducting user research and competitive analysis to identify customer needs, pain points, and best practices in the restaurant and online ordering domain;
Designing key user flows to create a streamlined ordering process, intuitive navigation, and clear call-to-action elements;
Creating a scalable UI Kit and responsive design systems in Figma to ensure consistency and optimal usability across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices;

Main Solutions

Redesigned the website with a clean and modern visual hierarchy to enhance readability and user focus;
Developed an adaptive layout optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices to improve accessibility and engagement;
Created a scalable UI Kit with consistent components to ensure design coherence and flexibility;
Streamlined the ordering process with simplified user flows, making it easy and fast to browse the menu and place orders;
Enhanced navigation with clear menu structure and prominent call-to-action buttons to increase conversions;
Designed an intuitive checkout and confirmation screen to reduce friction and prevent cart abandonment.

Usability Testing and Results

To validate the redesign, I conducted usability testing with 10 participants representing the target audience, including local customers and mobile users. The testing focused on the ordering flow, navigation clarity, and overall user satisfaction.

Key findings included:

92% task success rate: users easily completed key actions such as browsing the menu and placing orders without assistance.
Average task completion time reduced by 30% compared to the previous design.
Positive feedback on navigation and visual clarity: 90% of participants found the site intuitive and appealing.
Identified minor issues with the checkout process, which I addressed in the final iteration. The redesign led to improved usability, faster ordering experience, and an expected increase in online conversions and customer satisfaction.
