Personal Project: Pomodoro Timer in Figma

Somtochukwu Mbamalu

A Brief Introduction

As creatives, it is important that we master the use of the tools we use in our creative processes. When need be, we evolve with our tools.
For me, one of these tools is Figma. A year ago, we saw the addition of variables and conditions to Figma which was a game changer. While some may argue that it isn’t exactly necessary to be experts at prototyping complex flows, I prefer to push Figma to its limits.

So, What did I do?

I thought I would try out this new feature by creating a fully functional tool without codes. Thus, an idea was born; A Timer and Stop Clock, designed and prototyped solely in Figma.
Looking at it at this moment, it was quite a simple project. However, it was accompanied by a bin of rumpled paper and crossed-out sheets. Hehe - the pains of logic.
After a week of inconsistent iterations, I finally came up with a UI I could share with people.
I call it TimerV1; nothing remarkable about the name. Either way, I would like to share this version while I work on a better version and cleaner logic.
