How to Know You’re in Love?
You feel at ease; you are excited, but not justly so.
The buzz of new attractions is exciting, but real love is calm. If being with this person makes you feel secure and safe — like you can let
your defences down and just be yourself — that is a really good
indicator of love. Love isn’t comfort, even; love is comfort in the
other person’s company.
1.
You want them to be happy.
If you are in love, then the happiness of your partner becomes as
important as yours. You, in fact, feel naturally inclined towards
making sacrifices for their well-being — be it compromising on
movie choices or standing by them through their bad times. Well, if
making them happy seems to come rather naturally with you, then
your feelings could well be beyond the level of a mere crush.
2.
You accept their imperfections.
Love sees the incompetence and accepts them. If you’ve passed whatever “honeymoon phase” and still seem to feel this thing called
love after witnessing their weirdness or imperfections, that’s a good
sign. You don’t put them on a pedestal, and you take them just the
way they are — thorns and all.

Long-term, you think.
Well, if the thought of the next date will not intrigue your mind,
rather make you plan for future set-ups, that’s a clue that you’re in
love. Love looks ahead and plans a possible future together; be it
planning a common future, a house, or life decisions, you are
already setting your mind to involve them in everything.

You aren’t afraid to show your vulnerable side.
You feel relieved to tell him your innermost thoughts or most
pricking insecurities, and truest love provides a medium that allows vulnerability to be perceived through the glasses of understanding
and faith. And if that is so with you — that you can be yourself
without even having the fear of judgement — then you’re in love.

Love becomes a choice
Love is not just a feeling; it is also a decision. Those couples who do
make it over the long haul know that love requires work and
commitment. Whether one chooses this person day in, day out —
even when it’s hard — is perhaps a pretty powerful sign of true love. Love, however, is much more complicated to pinpoint. But if, in you,
in your heart, there is a feeling that is a combination of peace and
commitment, and actual concern for the well-being of another
person, then most likely, you are in love. Relish it, but bear in mind
that love is an emotion and also one’s choice. It is a deep, steady
connection that does not fade away immediately after the first
excited sparkly feeling has gone away.
