TRAVEL BOOKING APP

I have bern training myself for the past 6 weeks on UI, while training i decided to explore some travel apps to improve their app experience and usability. The project took about 5 weeks from research to development.

MY ROLE User Research, Competitive Analysis, UI Design, Style Guide, Prototyping.

PROJECT BRIEF In this case study, i worked on the interface of this travel app, with new age animations. Travel Royale is a travel booking app which allows users organize trips, and other itineraries such as stays, car rentals, and flights. USER RESEARCH I interviewed a few individuals to gather clarifications on their experiences so far on different travel apps and how usable is it. All these clarifications were gathered and used to analyze the research findings. Below is a user persona which i created to help the product plan for the app.

MARKET RESEARCH The market research was in two phases. First, I looked into the most popular travel and booking app on the market: Expedia and Booking. I compared the features of both apps and analyzed what makes the UI so admirable and irresistible for users. Both apps have little UI patterns in common. The research is targeted towards the apps that are solving common user problems.

USER FLOW Based on the project requirements and goals, I created two user flows to display the main paths users will take to reach a successful outcome while reducing friction.

VISUAL DESIGN Visual design aims to improve the designs product, so in this product i made use of appealing colors, suitable images, typographies, layouts and spacings. Every decision on how the app looks and feels is deliberate towards having a much improved experience for the user.

I shared this project with three of my friends who are also into design and other creative works, they've all been an inspiration to me in this design fields and below is their feedbacks. 

Result & Outcome Working on this product was a learning experience for me, it really impacted my daily abilities in design, this project was tasking but was worth studying for. I learnt new things from colors to typograhy and application application of the UI rules. I would love to work more and extend my study on this project in the future.
