Design MVP

Product Origin

FramePic is an in-house Framer template by The Design MVP, created to solve a recurring need we saw across e-commerce and creator brands:
A fast, design-forward Shopify storefront that doesn’t feel like a traditional theme.
To enable this, the entire template was built inside Framer using the Framerfy plugin, allowing Shopify to act as the backend while Framer powers the frontend experience.

Overview

FramePic is a minimal, visual-first e-commerce template built in Framer and powered by Shopify, connected via the Framerfy plugin.
It allows brands to:
Showcase products beautifully
Retain full Shopify functionality
Launch faster without sacrificing design quality
Avoid rigid Shopify themes by going headless with ease

About the Template

FramePic combines Framer’s flexibility with Shopify’s reliability, made possible through Framerfy’s Shopify–Framer integration.
With FramePic, users can:
Use Shopify for product, inventory, and checkout management
Dynamically render product data in Framer using Framerfy
Present products with clean, gallery-style layouts
Customize sections visually without touching code
Build storefronts that feel crafted, not templated
FramePic is designed for teams who want speed, simplicity, and strong visual identity, without engineering overhead.

The Process

1. Use-Case Discovery

Drawing from internal projects and client work, we identified key needs:
Quick setup for Shopify-powered stores
A headless setup without technical complexity
High emphasis on product imagery and layout flexibility
Seamless data syncing between Shopify and Framer
These insights led us to use Framerfy as the foundation for the template.

2. Template & UX Design

The design process focused on:
Clean typography and generous spacing
Modular sections built to work with Framerfy product data
Flexible layouts for different catalog sizes
Smooth interactions and subtle animations
Mobile-first responsiveness
All components were designed to be fully compatible with Framerfy-powered Shopify data.

3. Build & Shopify Integration

During development:
The entire template was built in Framer
Shopify was used as the commerce backend
Framerfy handled product syncing and rendering
SEO and performance best practices were applied
The template was tested across multiple real-store scenarios
This resulted in a production-ready template that works out-of-the-box with Framerfy.
