This project involved renovating an old flat by converting the originally compartmentalized spaces into an open-plan living area with three bedrooms.

This project involved renovating an old flat by converting the originally compartmentalized spaces into an open plan living area with three bedrooms.

The original plan had comprised of the kitchen and living/dining area being at opposite sides of the flat. The two bedrooms were also at opposite sides of the plan and the balcony was compartmentalized form the rest of the spaces.

The plan was reconfigured to create an open plan area from the kitchen through a dining and living area to the balcony which makes the space feel more expansive and open. Storage has been increased by carefully considering the planning of the new kitchen. An extra room was also created by partitioning the old living/dining room into two rooms with built in cupboards. This increased the versatility and functionality of the property.

In this project I was solely responsible for all aspects including the design, production of construction drawing, procurement of a builder and management of the site.
