Mothers for Justice and Equality (MJE) is a Boston-based nonprofit dedicated to ending neighborhood violence by empowering mothers and youth. Since 2010, their trauma-informed services have supported the academic, workforce development, health, and wellness needs of those impacted by community violence, including single mothers, youth, and their families.
The Challenge
MJE needed a website that reflected the weight and warmth of their mission. The site had to communicate their programs, impact stats, client registration flows, donor recognition, and community endorsements (including quotes from Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and BU President Dr. Melissa L. Gilliam) in a way that felt human, trustworthy, and easy to navigate.
My Role
Working remotely as a Web Designer with FreshySites, I designed the full website in Figma and built it on WordPress using Divi. I was responsible for the visual direction, layout structure, and responsive design across all pages.
