Painapple is a pop-punk band from the Basque Country who reached out to me to create the complete visual direction for their upcoming album, Bittersweet.

We kicked off the project with artwork for the first two singles, “Smiley” and “Dena Zuentzat.” The band wanted to explore the theme of emotional duality—how people often appear upbeat on the outside while struggling internally.

To reflect this, I developed visuals that layer contrasting moods: expressive, hand-drawn illustrations meet bold, polished graphic elements. These overlapping layers represent the tension between public appearance and private emotion, echoing the bittersweet tone of the music itself.

This visual approach set the tone for the rest of the album’s artwork and identity—playful, honest, and emotionally complex — Which will be comming soon!
