YouTube Shorties | Box Design

Cereal box-inspired gift box design to celebrate YouTube Shorts feature. YouTube Shorts is a new video experience for creators and artists to share short–form content using nothing but their mobile phones. To celebrate their launch, YouTube wanted to gift 3D chocolate boxes filled with flavorful cereal treats.

Shorties cereal is fun, playful, and vibrant; integrating creative expression of YouTube's new feature while adhering to their brand guidelines and without compromising the nutrition facts of the actual edible product. To relay their new feature of capturing short videos, I explored three different perspectives of Creators using their mobile phones to record videos in exciting scenarios.

As this was an urgent design pitch, I had a 3-day total turn around time. Upon completing one design concept, I decided to create additional illustration options while keeping the text content the same.

While the client gave me liberty on illustration style, it was also challenging to utilize only YouTube brand-approved colors. I explored a lot of their tertiary color palettes as I already showcased the YouTube logo to represent their brand. I limited myself to two main colors for the box background to help create all other graphic elements cohesively.
