Silica ESB

The BizTalk ESB Toolkit was widely used and entrenched everywhere in the core of the business. The performance of the solution wasn't sufficient anymore as more clients and load was added (costly and difficult to scale more) and the annual licensing fees were due to increase significantly from 2013.

I was tasked with creating a bespoke replacement that would mimic the BizTalk solution 100% allowing a transparent replacement of the entire solution without affecting any of the many consumers thereof.

The results were impressive, performance was almost 800% faster and we had much more capacity for additional load onto the platform.

No development for any consumers were required (it would have cost at least 3 Million EURO equivalent) to rewrite some of the solutions to use a new platform

No more BizTalk licenses = saving of almost 500,000 EU per annum.
