Project Title

“Finelance: Smarter Money for Solo Pros — UI/UX Design for a Freelance Finance App”

Project Overview

Finelance is a mobile-first fintech app that helps freelancers track balances, monitor cash flow, and stay on top of projects and payouts with a clean, confidence‑building interface. The experience prioritizes quick visibility into total funds, recent activity, and goal progress, reducing friction in everyday money tasks while maintaining trust and clarity.

Deliverables

High‑Fidelity Mobile UI Design: Polished screens featuring a prominent total balance, quick-glance progress meter, and concise recent activity cards.
Dashboard and Accounts: An at‑a‑glance home with overall balance, spend/receive insights, and easy account or project switching.
Transactions and Invoices: Organized lists with clear labeling, amounts, and status indicators to minimize cognitive load.
Branding System: Bold, modern typography, rounded iconography, and coin-inspired visuals to signal value and security.
Interactive Prototype: Clickable Figma flow from login to dashboard, transactions, and insights for realistic usability walkthroughs.

Unique Features

Instant Financial Clarity: Balance and recent transactions visible immediately after login to match user intent and reduce taps.
Actionable Insights: “Safe‑to‑Spend” style cues and monthly progress bars that guide day‑to‑day decisions without clutter.
Project‑Centric Money View: Group earnings by client or project with quick filters and swipe between accounts or categories.
Wellness‑Driven UX: Nudges, goals, and gentle alerts that promote healthy cash‑flow habits for independent workers.
Trust by Design: Plain language, predictable navigation, and secure authentication patterns to reinforce confidence.

Core Screens

Welcome/Sign‑In: Fast OTP/biometric access to minimize friction and increase completion rates.
Home Dashboard: Large total balance, earnings progress bar, period toggles (Day/Weekly/Monthly), and recent items.
Projects & Clients: Compact list with earnings per client, count of jobs, and quick access to details.
Transactions: Clean ledger with amounts, categories, and statuses; tap‑to‑expand details.
Insights: Spend vs. income trends with simple charts and short, actionable tips.

Visual & Interaction Language

Layout: High contrast hierarchy placing the balance and primary actions above the fold for immediate comprehension.
Color: Confident purple gradient with success accents to guide attention without overwhelming the data.
Components: Card-based summaries, rounded controls, and spacious spacing to improve scanability on the go.
Micro‑interactions: Subtle progress animations and tap‑to‑reveal insights that keep the interface responsive and helpful.

Usability Principles Applied

Show the most important data first: No hunting for balance or latest activity after login.
Make dashboards actionable: One clear primary action and interactive summaries rather than raw numbers.
Reduce cognitive load: Consistent labels, concise amounts, and predictable navigation patterns.
Mobile‑first performance: Fast loading and clear tap targets for real‑world use.
Accessibility & trust: Plain language, simple flows, and secure but low‑friction authentication.

Tools Used

Figma: High‑fidelity design, variables, and interactive prototyping for end‑to‑end flows.
Adobe Illustrator: Custom icons and coin motifs aligned with fintech visual conventions.
Photoshop: Asset prep and image optimization for crisp UI delivery.

Outcomes

Faster task completion from login to balance check due to prioritized dashboard content.
Improved decision confidence with clear “available to use” cues and short‑term forecasts.
Higher engagement from wellness‑oriented insights and gentle, relevant notifications.
