OrangeYouGlad

While working at OrangeYouGlad I had the delight of helping the company rebrand in 2022. This was a company-wide effort. My biggest contribution was illustrating and animating the company’s roster of fruit mascots and other miscellaneous characters. The rebrand additionally came with a website update, where you can see a lot of these characters in action. You can check out the full site here.

The direction for the OrangeYouGlad rebrand was heavily inspired by layering, stickers, and fun. We intended for the mascots to be a complement to the bold colors and text with their retro, simple line look. Below you can see character sheets for the main cast.

In addition to the cast of characters, our team created a library of “cuties” to be used as secondary visual assets. They can be seen across our social media and used to give our work a pop when necessary!

I not only had the pleasure of creating these mascots for OrangeYouGlad but also animating them for our site. Below is the landing page animation where users are greeted by Orangello. To keep these characters looking retro, I animated them frame by frame and then traced those lines in Adobe Illustrator to give them individual wiggle and maintain the resolution. The final step was arranging those frames in Adobe After Effects and then exporting them as Lottie files to keep the file sizes manageable for web.

To celebrate our rebrand, our team launched a fall collection of products to go with our new brand. We released everything from coffee tumblers to beanies and sweatshirts. I had the pleasure of helping manage this project from start to finish. Some of the pieces I’m most proud of included the 2023 calendar with 12 monthly themed illustrations of the mascots, a coffee tumbler with a wraparound design, and pencil pouches.
