Enhancing AWS & Magento 2 Efficiency – Kent.ca

In this comprehensive project for Kent.ca, we significantly elevated server and AWS infrastructure capabilities. We began by optimizing the NGINX, PHP, and Ubuntu Server configurations, which skyrocketed our request handling from 24 to an astounding 290 requests per 10 seconds, effectively eradicating timeout issues.

To enhance our environment monitoring, we introduced a sophisticated Alert Framework coupled with central application logging through Cloud Watch Logs, extending this centralized logging across all environments for uniformity and efficiency.

We focused on database and caching improvements as well. The MySQL database was optimized to handle increased loads effectively. Additionally, enhancements to Redis and Varnish caching systems were implemented, significantly speeding up website performance.

In terms of AWS Account governance, we removed unnecessary user and role accesses and implemented CIS standards, thereby fortifying our security measures.

Our cost optimization review involved removing redundant AWS resources, integrating non-AWS services for lower-level environments, and applying detailed resource usage tags. This strategic approach not only streamlined operations but also realized considerable cost savings.

These collective efforts led to a more robust, secure, and efficient digital infrastructure for Kent.ca, aligning technology performance with business goals.
