I was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey across the Hudson River from NYC. First and foremost, I am a mother. I have a 1-year-old son who’s given me a renewed purpose for everything I do. Secondly, I am a lifelong student. I am a first-generation Filipina-American, and first-generation oncoming college graduate at Arizona State University CISA. I believe that we all have the capacity to learn through every stage of life and that this continual learning can be a source of fulfillment. I strive to have a growth mindset that allows me to be humble, open-minded, and resolute.
Currently, my interests include weightlifting, cooking, anime, bouldering, and traveling. Being from the nation’s most ethnically diverse city, I love culture and diversity. I love experiencing other cultures, especially when it comes to food. I love learning about people and understanding them. Since moving to Dallas, TX in 2022, it has become a personal goal of mine to find community through connecting with others. Change occurs in times of adversity, and moving to another state where I don’t know anyone has placed me in an environment in which I can grow.
After graduating from ASU this December, I hope to break into the tech industry as a project manager or change management consultant. I hope to achieve this while also working on my own entrepreneurial endeavors including opening a coffee shop/eatery and building a community of car enthusiasts in the Dallas area. I hope to incorporate my love of culture into the menu items at my coffee shop so that I can share my own cultural experiences with others. The main purpose for my coffee shop is to cultivate a diverse community with which I can express my love of food, culture, and people.
