General Hospital in Pljevlja, Montenegro (2023)
This project presents the design concept for a new General Hospital in Pljevlja, Montenegro, developed through a competitive design process and commissioned by the Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development. The vision was to create a modern, high-performance healthcare facility that seamlessly combines architectural clarity, operational efficiency, and a strong focus on patient well-being. The design integrates both interior and exterior solutions into a cohesive architectural language, ensuring alignment with contemporary medical standards and future healthcare demands.
The scope of work included full architectural development and strategic spatial planning, with particular attention given to optimizing medical workflows and functional relationships between departments. Carefully structured layouts were developed for clinical areas, patient rooms, administrative spaces, and support functions to enhance efficiency, comfort, and ease of circulation throughout the facility.
To support clear communication with stakeholders, the project was accompanied by detailed design documentation, as well as high-end visualizations and animations that effectively conveyed the design intent, functionality, and overall vision. The final proposal delivers a comprehensive and scalable solution for a next-generation healthcare facility tailored to the long-term needs of the Pljevlja community and is currently under evaluation for future implementation.
