Project Overview:

BillSpot is a FinTech platform designed to simplify how users manage and pay their bills. Many users rely on different applications for various bill payments such as utilities, transfers, subscriptions, and mobile top-ups. This fragmented experience often leads to confusion, inefficiency, and reduced trust in digital financial tools.
This project focused on designing a centralized bill payment experience where users can manage essential financial transactions in one place.
The goal was to create a product that feels clear, reliable, and easy to use, helping users confidently complete financial actions without unnecessary complexity.

The goal of the project was to design a unified financial platform that simplifies how users handle bill payments and transfers.
Key objectives included:
Provide a clear overview of users’ financial balances
Simplify bill payments across different services
Reduce confusion caused by multiple payment platforms

Process

1. Understanding the Problem

Through research and market observation, several usability challenges commonly experienced by users were identified.
Key pain points included:
Managing multiple apps for different bill types
Difficulty understanding balances and payment statuses
Anxiety around failed or delayed payments
Limited visibility into past transactions
Financial interfaces that felt complicated or risky to use
These insights highlighted the need for a platform that centralizes financial actions while improving clarity and trust.

2. Designing a Unified Financial Experience

The design focused on bringing multiple financial actions into a single streamlined interface.
Users can easily perform essential actions such as:
Receiving payments
Transferring money
Paying bills
By consolidating these actions into one platform, the experience removes the need to switch between multiple apps.

3. Creating a Balance-First Dashboard

The dashboard was designed to highlight the user’s account balance as the primary piece of information.
This approach ensures that users can immediately understand their financial status when they open the app.
From the dashboard, users can quickly access key financial actions without navigating through multiple screens.

4. Designing for Trust and Clarity

Financial products require interfaces that make users feel confident and secure.
To achieve this, the design focused on:
