Brand Identity Design for Alma del Mar Hotel

Alma del Mar is a fictional 12-room boutique hotel imagined along the Mediterranean coast.
The identity was created around a slower, more intimate idea of hospitality
— warm, personal and slightly nostalgic. Through a visual direction I call Kokkuri Retro, sun-faded Mediterranean colours, tactile details and editorial elements come together to shape a hotel that feels lived in rather than overly polished.
A small place designed for long mornings, quiet afternoons and stays that feel personal.
01 — Brand Introduction
Alma del Mar is a fictional 12-room boutique hotel imagined along the Mediterranean coast — warm, intimate and shaped by a slower way of staying.
02 — Invitation & Stay Experience
The experience begins with an invitation to slow down. Long breakfasts, open windows, sea air and rooms designed to make guests want to stay a little longer.
03 — Small by Choice
With only twelve rooms, Alma del Mar is intentionally intimate. Fewer rooms create more privacy, more character and a more personal relationship with every guest.
04 — Space & Architecture
The hotel is organised across five levels: shared spaces and a garden terrace on the ground floor, twelve guest rooms above, and a rooftop pool and bar overlooking the Mediterranean.
05 — From Room to Detail
The identity extends into the everyday guest experience
— from the first morning light to room keys, slippers, towels and bathroom amenities. Every detail belongs to the same visual world.
06 — Kokkuri Retro
The visual direction, Kokkuri Retro, combines warm orange, faded yellow, soft beige, Mediterranean blue and sun-washed green. “Kokkuri” is a Japanese expression for colours that feel rich, warm and comforting
— vivid, but never loud.
07 — Beyond the Room
Alma del Mar is designed as more than a place to sleep. It is a slower way to experience the Mediterranean
— quiet swims, long lunches, sunset drinks and time with nowhere else to be.

For Alma del Mar, the goal was to create more than a visual identity. I wanted to build a complete hospitality world — one where colour, editorial design, spatial details and guest touchpoints all support the same feeling.

A slower rhythm. A warmer kind of luxury. A stay that feels personal.
Where time softens.
