This project focused on visualizing the documentary video titled "How 2 Bullied Kids Built an Ice Cream Empire", produced by MagnatesMedia. The story follows the unlikely rise of Ben & Jerry from outcasts to entrepreneurial icons. My role was to enhance the storytelling through motion graphics that reflect both the emotional journey and the colorful world of ice cream branding.
Unlike previous videos with darker tones, this project required a cheerful and inviting visual direction to match the brand identity of Ben & Jerry’s—fun, vibrant, and a little quirky.

🎨 Visual Approach

Bright, pastel-inspired color palette echoing Ben & Jerry’s iconic packaging and ice cream flavors
Playful motion, soft transitions, and hand-drawn-style illustrations to evoke a friendly, optimistic tone
Layered 2D scenes with stylized assets that balance humor, warmth, and informative storytelling
Visual metaphors (e.g., melting ice cream, sprinkles, childhood motifs) to support key narrative moments

🧠 Key Responsibilities

Translating the script and voice-over into visually engaging sequences
Creating all animated elements and scenes in Adobe After Effects
Designing custom characters and visual motifs in Adobe Illustrator
Editing and adapting image-based materials in Photoshop for consistency and tone
Ensuring visual consistency with MagnatesMedia’s brand while adapting to the video’s lighter, nostalgic mood

🎯 Project Outcome

This video stood out within the MagnatesMedia catalog due to its unique blend of emotionally-driven storytelling and whimsical visuals. The brighter tone resonated with audiences, especially younger viewers and fans of inspirational business stories. The motion graphics played a key role in balancing humor with heart—bringing levity to serious themes like bullying while celebrating resilience and creativity.
The video helped expand the channel's reach into more emotionally uplifting narratives while maintaining its documentary roots.
