Hot Beans is a bold, playful coffee brand designed to energize modern mornings.
Challenge
No brand in the European urban café space was credibly owning little treat culture, the daily ritual that's equal parts self-care, habit, and identity marker. The gap wasn't product. It was personality. Something visual enough for TikTok, authentic enough for a paper cup, and sharp enough to make people feel seen rather than targeted.
Outcome
A full brand system: name, wordmark, colour, texture, copy, packaging, merch, and space, built around one idea: coffee as identity, not commodity. Every touchpoint works as a single coherent signal, designed to scale from one location to many without losing the thing that makes it work.
Storytelling
The strategic core is a single tension: Gen Z doesn't buy coffee, they buy a mood and a signal. That insight drove every decisio, from the handwritten wordmark (human over corporate) to the grid texture (personal over polished) to copy lines like "Wake Up Lucky." and "The Cold Hottie" (voice as visual identity, not an afterthought). The brand had to feel discovered, not marketed. That's the difference between a brand people choose and one they post without being asked.
