How I Became a Contra Ambassador

Graphic Designer
Notion
After graduating from my Associate's Degree program in Communication Design at Parsons last December, i dove deep into my job search and was adamant in finding an awesome, full-time job. Everyday I would go on LinkedIn, Indeed, or AngelList and sift through all the openings I could find, so much so that my TikTok algorithm started showing me job application tips -- and that's how I first found Contra!
As a creative, I've always found that the opportunities posted on platforms like LinkedIn were a bit lacking, and I realized that platforms more tailored for creatives such as Working Not Working have given me more promising results. I'm glad to stumbled upon Contra, yet another promising platform for creatives like me. Since then, I ironically did start working as a designer at an agency but made it a point to set aside a few hours every week dedicated to freelance work! This is so that I can find even more ways to stay creative and keep learning, and I'm glad that I have Contra to help me with this side hustle.
Being a March Ambassador for Contra has given me the opportunity to be one of the first users of the platform and I'm glad that I'm able to give valuable feedback that makes an impact as the build out the platform! It feels amazing to be on the other side of a design role, where i'm not working on design projects but rather giving feedback that would help the product and company grow. Contra is a great place to not only find flexible work opportunities, but to also build a community full of like minded people, and I'm glad to be a part of it!
