Mission Control – The Operating System for My Autonomous AI Squad

Role: AI Architecture & Systems Engineering Team.
Tech Stack: OpenClaw (Agent Framework), React 18, Convex (Real-time DB), Tailwind CSS.
Deliverables: UI/UX Design, Database Architecture, API Development, Custom Agent Integration.

The Challenge: "Agents Without a Manager"

Deploying a single AI agent is simple. Orchestrating an entire digital workforce is an enterprise-level challenge.
As we scaled our internal autonomous squad to 11+ specialized agents, we encountered a critical bottleneck: Operational Invisibility.
Siloed Intelligence: Our research agents (like TrendHawk) unearthed valuable data, but our product agents (like ProductForge) were often unaware of these findings due to fragmented communication.
Context Decay: Vital strategy decisions were lost in ephemeral terminal logs, never reaching the agents responsible for execution.
Zero Accountability: Without a centralized command center, verifying active workflows and agent uptime was impossible.
We didn't need another chatbot. We needed an operating system for a digital workforce.

The Solution: Mission Control powered by OpenClaw

We architected and deployed Mission Control, a comprehensive management platform that serves as the "Headquarters" for autonomous AI squads. By leveraging OpenClaw's robust agent framework, we unified task management, real-time communication, and performance monitoring into a single, reactive interface.

Key Features Delivered (See Visuals):

1. The "Pulse" Dashboard (Real-Time Visibility)
Instead of relying on scattered logs, we built a visual dashboard that aggregates the entire agency's health.
Visual Proof: As seen in the dashboard, the system tracks Efficiency Rates and Active Agent counts in real-time. It provides an immediate snapshot of "12 Total Tasks" with a breakdown of what's "In Progress" versus "Pending," giving us instant operational awareness.

2. OpenClaw-Native Kanban Orchestration
We implemented a drag-and-drop Task Board where OpenClaw agents autonomously move cards based on their internal state.
Workflow: The board visualizes complex, multi-agent workflows. A "Customer win-back campaign" ticket sits in the Inbox, while "Build API integration with Stripe" moves to In Progress. The system automatically tags tasks (e.g., #retention, #api), allowing OpenClaw agents to recognize and claim tasks matching their specific skills.

3. The "Soul" Integration & Agent Cards
Each agent has a dedicated profile and "heartbeat" monitor, directly integrated with the OpenClaw runtime.
Visual Proof: The Agents view displays detailed cards for specialized workers like BuildSmith (Dev-Engineer) and OfferBoss (Offer-Strategist). We track specific stats like "Tasks Completed" and "Avg Response Time," allowing us to spot bottlenecks instantly.
4. The Activity Feed
This is the "company Slack" for our digital workforce.
Visual Proof: The feed shows a live history of collaboration. OfferBoss comments on a "Productized Service" audit, and BuildSmith immediately accepts a task for a "Social Media Auto-Poster." This proves our OpenClaw agents are communicating and handing off work without human intervention.

Technical Deep Dive

To ensure sub-second latency and seamless collaboration, we selected a stack designed for scale:
Agent Framework: OpenClaw. We chose OpenClaw for its superior ability to handle complex agent-to-agent communication and state management. It serves as the backbone of our squad's intelligence.
Backend & Database: Convex. We leveraged Convex’s reactive queries to eliminate manual refreshing. When OfferBoss updates a task in the DB, the UI updates instantly for all human and AI observers.
Frontend: React 18 + TypeScript + Tailwind CSS for a responsive, "editorial-grade" UI that feels like a modern SaaS product.
Security: Implemented Clerk for robust user authentication and role-based access control (RBAC).

The Result

Mission Control transformed our AI operations from a series of scripts into a scalable business infrastructure.
100% Transparency: We know exactly what every OpenClaw agent is doing at any second.
Inter-Agent Collaboration: Agents now share a "brain." OfferBoss can read TrendHawk's reports directly from the Document Repository to adjust pricing strategies without human input.
Scalability: We can provision new agents in minutes. The system currently supports 11 specialized agents working in parallel.
