Problem:

Our existing competitive event platform was struggling with low activation rates, complex user interfaces, and numerous user complaints about bugs and usability issues. This resulted in poor user adoption and engagement, hindering the platform's growth and success.

What I did and my responsibilities:

As the lead Product Manager, I spearheaded the end-to-end transformation of our competitive event platform. My responsibilities included:

Product Strategy

Crafted a comprehensive vision and strategy for the new platform
Developed a phased rollout plan to ensure smooth transitions for all users
Prioritized features and improvements based on user impact and technical feasibility

UX Design

Conducted user research to identify pain points in the existing platform
Collaborated with UX designers to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces
Oversaw the redesign of key user journeys, focusing on simplification and ease of use

Product Discovery

Analyzed user feedback, support tickets, and usage data to identify critical areas for improvement
Conducted competitor analysis to identify market gaps and opportunities
Engaged with key stakeholders and power users to gather insights on desired features

Technical Oversight

Worked closely with the development team to address existing bugs and technical debt
Prioritized and managed the implementation of new features and improvements
Ensured the new platform met performance and scalability requirements

Stakeholder Management

Communicated project progress and milestones to executive leadership
Collaborated with marketing and customer success teams to plan the rollout and user adoption strategies
Managed expectations and gathered input from various internal departments

Implementation and Launch

Oversaw the gradual rollout of new features and improvements over a one-year period
Conducted beta testing and gathered user feedback for iterative improvements
Monitored key metrics post-launch and implemented necessary adjustments
