Situated between the new city centre and the north side of Doha Bay the 231-meter tower was designed during a time when major cultural development plans for Doha were launched by Sheikh Saud bin Hamad Al Thani. The circular building with structure pushed to the periphery measuring a 45m in diameter is topped by a dome.

The façade pattern, inspired by the mashrabiyya and formed by butterfly aluminium.Every oor boasts panoramic views toward the gulf to the east, the port to the south, Doha city on the west, and the desert on the north.The entrance is carved into the landscape; the tower surrounded by planted slopes rising toward the lobby and its glass canopy. 

The Significance of Eight Point Stars in Islamic Art.

Representation of Light : Stars produced light in the heavens, so it is not as surprising that Muslims chose stars to represent light to decorate buildings as well as illumination for sacred texts.

Stars are Guides in the Desert : The first Muslims were desert-dwellers and relies on the stars for guidance as in navigation through the deserts or the sea.

The Concept and Usage of Mashrabiyah.

Mashrabiya is the Arabic term given to a type of projecting oriel window .It is intended as a cooling contraption and providing Privacy.

It is a method of letting air in, and encouraging good airflow and It preserves the privacy of the home dweller while he or she can observe the outside world without being seen themselves.

Since it is wooden and pierced, air can freely flow into one’s home without disrupting their privacy or the need to open up.

It also gave shade from the searing heat of the sun, all while allowing the air to circulate.
