CASE STUDY
From checkout to closing, one operating system for retail.
The requirement was not just a billing screen. The business needed one connected operational system where products, sales, returns, expenses, suppliers, employees, cash control and reporting could share the same source of truth.
A sale changes stock, cash, payment totals, staff performance and the end-of-day position. Returns reverse part of that flow. Expenses affect cash. Supplier purchases affect payables. Treating each workflow separately makes accurate closing and reporting harder.
02 · Approach
Model the business around transactions, not pages.
MMBM built the application around operational events: sell, return, spend, receive stock, post supplier entries, close the day, close the month and review history. The interface then exposes those workflows in focused workspaces.
03 · Delivery
Production-oriented controls throughout the system.
Authenticated access, barcode-led checkout, multiple payment methods, sales and return histories, cash-drawer calculations, analytics, receipt workflows and Excel/PDF-style exports were designed as parts of the same operating model.
OPERATIONAL FLOW
Each module feeds the next decision.
The system covers the full retail loop rather than isolating point-of-sale from back-office operations.
01
Inventory
Products, variants, barcodes, initial stock, sold quantities, remaining stock and stock alerts.
02
Sales terminal
Barcode/search checkout, staff attribution, discounts, held bills, split payments and thermal-receipt-oriented workflow.
03
Daily closing
Cash received, expenses, returns, expected drawer position and reconciliation before locking the business day.
04
Month-end control
Closing completeness checks, sales and expense totals, payment-method summaries and exportable monthly reporting.
05
Returns
Invoice-linked product returns, refund methods, return history and exchange/settlement visibility.
06
Suppliers & expenses
Digital supplier ledger, debit/credit entries, running balances and multi-payment expense tracking.
Searchable sales and return registers, payment breakdowns, analytics and spreadsheet/report exports.
12 production screens

ENGINEERING
Full-stack business logic with an auditable data trail.
React powers the operational interface, while Node.js and Express handle application logic and APIs. MongoDB/Mongoose persist products, transactions, users and operational records. JWT-based authentication restricts access, while Chart.js and XLSX support analysis and exports.
DELIVERY VALUE
The important result is operational coverage.
Instead of a narrow cash-register application, MMBM POS delivers a connected workspace for retail operations—from adding stock to selling, reconciling, returning, paying suppliers, tracking staff and reviewing history.
Tell us what your team does today, where it breaks, and what a better workflow should look like.
