edgeSwap is a fast and reliable decentralized crypto exchange designed to provide seamless trading experiences in the ever-evolving world of cryptocurrency. As the demand for decentralized finance (DeFi) continues to grow, edgeSwap aims to offer a secure, user-friendly platform for trading various cryptocurrencies. My role in this project was to design an intuitive and visually engaging UI/UX for both desktop and mobile versions of the exchange, ensuring that the trading process was smooth, efficient, and accessible to users of all levels of experience.

The challenge of designing edgeSwap was to balance performance and functionality, offering a platform that was both lightweight and feature-rich. The platform required real-time data updates, advanced order book functionalities, and a seamless wallet connection experience, all while maintaining a design that felt modern and approachable. The goal was to make edgeSwap a trusted tool for traders looking for a decentralized exchange that could match the speed and reliability of centralized exchanges, but without sacrificing the core principles of decentralization and user control.

1. Research & Competitor Analysis: Conducted in-depth research on existing decentralized exchanges (DEXs) to identify pain points and areas for improvement. 2. User Persona Development: Developed user personas to define the needs and goals of different trader types, from beginners to advanced users. 3. Wireframing & User Flows: Created wireframes to establish key interactions and user flows, focusing on reducing complexity while ensuring powerful functionality. 4. UI Design & Aesthetic Refinement: Designed the interface with an emphasis on clarity and simplicity, using vibrant yet subtle color schemes to differentiate various actions and elements. 5. Prototyping: Developed interactive prototypes to visualize the trading experience and allow for early testing of the platform’s features. 6. Real-Time Data Integration: Collaborated with the development team to incorporate real-time market data, including price updates, order books, and transaction status. 7. Responsive Design: Ensured that the design was fully responsive, optimizing for both desktop and mobile devices without compromising functionality. 8. User Testing & Feedback: Conducted user testing sessions to validate the design, gather feedback, and refine user flows based on real user interactions. 9. Iteration & Refinement: Iterated on the design based on testing feedback, enhancing usability and performance for a smoother trading experience. 10. Development Handoff: Provided the development team with detailed design specifications, ensuring the final product was consistent with the initial design vision.
