Overview
Horion is an emerging e-commerce platform entering the digital marketplace that focuses on offering a curated selection of unique and distinctive products. To thrive in a competitive landscape, Horion requires a standout design that captures attention while delivering an exceptional user experience. This design must reflect the brand's identity and prioritize ease of navigation, visual appeal, and functionality to drive high conversion rates and improve long-term customer retention.
Role
I worked as a UI signer on this project, I worked closely with a design agency that needed a solo designer to help their client create an e-commerce website who wanted to have a visual representation of his idea brought to life, I worked closely with the branding department provided the color and styling for the website. I needed to make a full design to make it easy for the developers to implement without hassle. I created the website screens, including the home page, cart, product details, and other needed pages.
I was responsible for:
Creating wireframes and prototypes for approximately 8–10 pages.
Shaping the design vision by conducting thorough research and engaging in insightful stakeholder interviews.
Ensuring the UIUX design process aligns with the brand identity
Facilitating communication with the teams and stakeholders involve in the project.
Challenges
Since I was tasked to design the website from scratch it was a little bit challenging having to research through competitors to see what they were doing and what I could do differently while still making sure users can instantly familiarize themselves with the website as what it should be naturally.
came up with the styling using the guidelines I was provided. crafting a website that is new elegant and up to date showcase trust, aesthetics, ease of use, and delivering a smooth user experience.
Proces
Discovery: I started by researching the competitors, and targeted audience, the goal is to create a simple aesthetically pleasing website that feels easy and guides the user to reach their goals without distractions.
Wireframing: I Put together the insights from the research, I made a low-fidelity wireframe to create the structure of the main pages, this allowed me to focus on navigation, information hierarchy, and organization of the contents to ensure ease of use.
Design: With the wireframe in place, I used it as a guide to create a high-fidelity mockup that brought the vision to life. With creativity and innovation carefully selected the color palette, typography, and imagery that convey professionalism.
collaboration: I stayed consistent with communication throughout the design process with the design manager, branding creatives, and developers on the team to address refining, feedback loops, and technical issues and ensure alignment at every stage.
