I watched V-Cool Golden Kola's new commercial made by Vijufamily and felt something was missing.
The product was there.
The visuals were there.
But I didn't feel the story.
And without a story, it's difficult for an audience to emotionally connect with the product.
So I decided to explore a different creative direction.
I started with someone Nigerians can relate to:
Tunde, a Youth Corp member.
After a stressful day of PPA and CDS under the scorching sun, Tunde spots a bottle of V-Cool Golden Kola at a nearby kiosk.
One sip.
He feels refreshed.
But it doesn't end there.
He takes the drink back to his neighborhood, shares it with his friends, and eventually takes it with him to a night party.
V-Cool Golden Kola becomes part of his day.
That was the feeling I wanted the commercial to create not just “here's a new carbonated drink,” but:
“This is the drink I want when I'm living my everyday Nigerian life.”
For me, great commercial design isn't just about making a product look beautiful.
It's about creating a story that makes people feel something about the product.
That's the creative direction I explored for V-Cool Golden Kola.
Would this story make you want to try the drink?
