B4work a job board app exclusively for candidates, available on both iOS and Android platforms. Dedicated to simplifying and elevating the job search experience, B4work offers a specialized solution designed to empower users in their quest for the perfect opportunity.

Job seekers often face the challenge of organizing multiple job opportunities. Without a dedicated solution, managing and revisiting these prospects becomes time-consuming. To address this, B4work introduces the “Save Job” feature, streamlining the process and offering users a simple way to organize and manage their potential opportunities efficiently.

I played a central role in bringing the “Save Job” feature to B4work. From conceptualization to implementation, I focused on understanding user needs, designing an intuitive interface, and ensuring a smooth integration. My responsibilities also included coordinating with cross-functional teams for a successful rollout on both iOS and Android platforms.

In our continuous effort to elevate the B4work platform for job seekers, we conducted comprehensive user interviews to gain essential insights into their experiences and preferences.

Platform-Specific Organization: Users stressed the need for a tool on B4work to centrally manage and organize job opportunities within the platform.

Efficient Retrieval of Opportunities: Feedback highlighted the challenge users face in revisiting and tracking potential job leads, emphasizing the need to streamline this process, particularly within B4work.

Exclusive Application Focus: User insights revealed a strong desire for tools tailored exclusively to managing and applying for positions within the B4work application.

Simplified Job Search: Users preferred a straightforward and intuitive tool, enhancing the B4work experience by simplifying the job search process.

Personalization with Notes: Users need personalization; adding notes to saved jobs lets them enhance organization with relevant information, reminders, or thoughts.

To solidify our understanding of user needs, we launched a targeted survey aimed at validating insights gathered during user interviews. The survey, strategically designed to complement qualitative findings, provided quantitative confirmation and expanded the scope of our analysis.

In preparation for integrating the “Save Job” feature into B4work, we conducted a focused competitive analysis within the job-search app landscape. This analysis centered specifically on features related to job-saving functionalities. By scrutinizing how competitors implement similar features, we gained valuable insights into best practices, user interaction patterns, technological integration, monetization strategies, and industry trends. This comprehensive understanding guided the strategic development of the “Save Job” feature, ensuring its seamless integration, effectiveness, and a competitive edge within the dynamic job-search app market.

In the wireframing phase, I’ve outlined the user flow from browsing the job feed to saving and applying. This visual sketch simplifies the process, showcasing the ease of transitioning from the feed to saving a job.

Moving to high fidelity, the initial “Save Job” sketches come to life with refined details and a polished design. Screens from job browsing to saving and applying are crafted for a visually pleasing and intuitive experience. This phase elevates functionality and aesthetics, ensuring the “Save Job” feature is both user-friendly and visually engaging.

In the prototyping phase, I present the “Save Job” feature through an interactive video. This showcase illustrates the user journey, offering stakeholders a hands-on experience from job discovery to saving and applying. 

During testing, five candidates tried out our product, and their feedback was very positive.

Success Rate: Users achieved an outstanding 90% success rate in successfully saving and applying to jobs, highlighting the feature’s functional and user-friendly nature.
