As a graphic designer for EESTEC, I worked on the design team for an operational event called IT Sprint, which aimed to organize an effective committee for the event in Skopje. The biggest challenge was motivating members to apply for the committee, and good PR was crucial. As a designer, I took the lead in creating social media posts and headers for the Google Workspace. I used futuristic and eye-catching design elements to inspire members to apply.
To promote the event, I came up with a unique Easter egg hunt campaign. I anonymously distributed a piece of paper among members at the motivational weekend, which is the biggest gathering of members in the year. The paper included a QR code leading to a password-protected text file. On the back of the paper, I included a hint about a "magic color", which was the organization's iconic branding color - red. This color served as the password to the file. When members opened and decrypted the file from binary to text, they could read the open call for organizing committee members. The campaign was a huge success, and we managed to have a full team.
As a designer, I pride myself on my ability to work well under pressure to deliver visually appealing designs and excellent PR results. I possess superb people skills and empathy, which are crucial in the design process. These skills enable me to communicate effectively with team members and clients, and to understand their needs and preferences. I am also passionate about staying up-to-date with design trends and techniques, which allows me to create innovative designs that capture the attention of the target audience.
In summary, my work for EESTEC's IT Sprint event showcased my ability to use creative design strategies to solve problems and motivate people. I believe that my experience in this project, combined with my competency in graphic design, people skills, and empathy, make me a valuable asset to any team.
After the success of the IT Sprint event, our team went on to organize the Codebreakers Bash, an international motivational weekend for 60 students from all over Europe. The event was a cyberpunk-themed party weekend in Skopje. As the main Public Relations Coordinator for the organizing committee, I was responsible for all marketing, promotion, hype, motivation, and content writing, including post content and emails, to encourage members to apply. This was a challenging task, as our previous event had only 13 participants, and we were targeting a much larger audience.
To promote the Codebreakers Bash, we designed and produced promotional short videos that included clips of EESTEC LC Skopje, along with cyberpunk music and text-to-speech captions. We also created promotional social media posts and Google Forms headers to capture the attention of potential applicants. Our marketing efforts were successful, and we received a total of 70 applications, with 64 official participants in attendance. It was a major achievement for us, and I was thrilled to see my PR efforts pay off.
Working as the main Public Relations Coordinator for the event, I gained valuable experience in working under pressure to deliver eye-catching designs and great PR results. I learned to work effectively as part of a team, and to communicate clearly and efficiently with my colleagues. I have developed superb people skills and empathy, which I believe are essential for successful design work. Overall, my experience with EESTEC has allowed me to hone my skills in graphic design and PR, and I am eager to continue working in this field.
