YouTube Talking Head Sample

This project was a free sample created for the YouTube channel Mike's Financial Edge. I selected a 1-minute fragment from the video "You've Been Reading Dow Jones Headlines Wrong This Whole Time" and improved it to demonstrate stronger pacing, clarity, and audience retention.

The goal was to transform a standard talking-head long-form horizontal video into a more dynamic and engaging version suitable for modern YouTube standards. The creator ultimately did not proceed due to budget limitations, but confirmed that the sample met expectations and was well received.

Edited in DaVinci Resolve, featuring:

– Zooms and dynamic framing – Animated text and bullet points – Motion graphics and visual animations – B-roll from archival news footage – Information panels and visual inserts – Picture-in-picture effect – Sound effects for emphasis

This project demonstrates my ability to improve existing YouTube talking-head content and turn it into a more engaging, high-retention video, even when working with already published material.

It highlights strong skills in pacing, visual storytelling, and enhancing educational and financial content for YouTube audiences.
