CapDrive is a fictional Formula 1 team concept created for the CapCut Design Studio Challenge on Contra. The goal was to explore what CapCut might look like if it expanded beyond digital creativity and entered the world of elite motorsport.
By translating CapCut’s modern, fast-paced, and creator-focused identity into a Formula 1 environment, I developed a complete visual system that feels both authentic to the sport and aligned with the brand.
The Challenge
Formula 1 teams require more than just a logo—they need a cohesive identity that performs across vehicles, apparel, equipment, merchandise, and digital platforms. The challenge was to create a believable motorsport brand that could compete alongside the world’s leading F1 teams while maintaining a strong connection to CapCut’s visual language.
The Approach
I began by identifying the core qualities associated with CapCut: creativity, speed, accessibility, and innovation. These attributes informed the visual direction of the project, leading to a bold identity built around a modern green color palette, clean geometric forms, and performance-driven design elements.
The branding was designed to feel dynamic and premium while remaining instantly recognizable across multiple touchpoints.
Design System
The CapDrive identity extends across every major component of a professional Formula 1 team, including:
Team logo and visual identity
Formula 1 car livery
Driver racing suits
Helmets and race equipment
Compression wear and accessories
Team merchandise
Fan apparel and lifestyle products
Each element was designed as part of a unified system to ensure consistency and strengthen brand recognition both on and off the track.
Outcome
The result is a fully realised Formula 1 brand concept that reimagines CapCut as a competitive force in motorsport. CapDrive demonstrates how a digital-first brand can be translated into a new industry through strategic branding, visual storytelling, and cohesive design thinking.
More than a logo exercise, the project showcases the power of building an entire brand world around a single creative idea.
