My Role:

Lead UX Designer tasked with creating a mobile app to assist users in tracking their medicine.

Project Goal:

Many people forget to take their daily medication/supplements. It might be because they lead busy lives, or because they are older and forgetful. This can lead to health complications down the line. This app is designed with the users health in mind.

Key Challenges:

Approaching an existing idea with a fresh and inviting design, as opposed to creating just another calendar app.

Keeping discretion in mind when creating the reminders.

Research Study:

After conducting user interviews consisting of various age groups who have been through the logging process of the app, I compiled their feedback into empathy maps. Most participants enjoyed the subtle reminders the app encourages. The main pain point was that they have to manually erase medications they no longer take, & they would like a refill reminder option.

Initial Design Concept:

In my ideation my goal was to make a simple process for users to log their medication.

Takeaways:

The users feel like the app and website was easy to navigate and exceeded their needs. They thought the choice of colors/graphics gave an otherwise serious topic a whimsical take.

Designing this website, I learned that after each case study there is always something to improve.
