Provision of 50,000 Data SIMs for Smart Metering for ECG

The "Provision of 50,000 Data SIMs for Smart Metering for Electricity Company of Ghana" project was a collaborative initiative between Vodafone Ghana and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) aimed at modernizing the utility sector. The project, led by me in the dual role of Account Manager and Project Manager, commenced on May 15, 2022, and concluded successfully on January 31, 2023, with a total budget of 300,000 Ghanaian Cedis (GHC).

The core objective of this project was to provide ECG with 50,000 data-enabled SIM cards for the implementation of smart metering across their service areas. Smart metering technology enables remote monitoring and management of electricity consumption, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing revenue losses.

My responsibilities included project planning, execution, and delivery. As the Account Manager, I liaised with the ECG to understand their specific requirements and ensure seamless coordination. In my role as the Project Manager, I oversaw the deployment of data SIMs, coordinating with our technical team to guarantee the successful activation and integration of these SIMs with ECG's smart meters.

The project was a resounding success, paving the way for ECG to revolutionize their electricity distribution and billing systems. The implementation of smart metering not only streamlined their operations but also improved the accuracy of billing, contributing to enhanced customer satisfaction and reduced energy losses.

Throughout the project, Winfred Osafo, a colleague at Vodafone Ghana, played a critical role as the primary contact person. His role was instrumental in maintaining clear and efficient communication between our teams, facilitating a collaborative environment that led to the project's success.
